A yoga school built on genuine practice not on marketing.
The Seventh Center is a yoga and wellness school rooted in Rishikesh the Himalayan city on the banks of the Ganges where serious yoga practice has been taught and studied for generations. We offer a broad range of programs: from live online yoga classes for students anywhere in the world, to residential teacher training and immersive retreat experiences in Rishikesh.
Our school takes its name from the seventh chakra Sahasrara which in yoga philosophy represents pure, undistracted awareness. We chose this name not as a spiritual claim, but because it points to something real: a quality of attention that develops gradually through committed study, and that changes how you experience everything.
What makes us different is not credentials it is the quality of teaching, the seriousness of the curriculum, and the honesty of our approach. We do not make medical claims. We do not push packages. We believe a good yoga school lets the practice speak for itself.

Yoga in its home and the difference it makes.
Rishikesh sits at the point where the Ganges descends from the Himalayan foothills into the plains. For generations, it has been the destination for serious yoga students teachers, scholars, and practitioners who come not for the scenery alone, but for access to a tradition of study with very deep roots here.
The Seventh Center is located in the Tapovan area of Laxman Jhula the part of Rishikesh that has historically housed the most dedicated yoga schools. Being here is not a marketing decision. It is where our teachers live and practise. The environment shapes the teaching. Students who come here consistently describe the city's rhythms the mornings, the river, the surrounding hills as integral to the experience.

Five styles each with a distinct character and purpose
Different styles suit different people and different moments in a practice. We teach all five with equal depth. Not sure which is right for you? Ask us.
A well-taught yoga practice is one of the most genuinely useful things a person can build not because of what it promises, but because of what it quietly changes.
That is what we work towards at The Seventh Center. Not performance or aesthetics a practice that holds up in real life, year after year.
Our Approach & PhilosophyWhat makes The Seventh Center different
Teaching that actually teaches
A teacher who cannot see or respond to each student is presenting, not teaching. Our classes online and in-person are deliberately small. Teachers explain why postures are structured the way they are, correct alignment in real time, and adapt the class dynamically. This is not typical in group yoga classes. It is the standard here.
Rooted in a real tradition, not a brand
We are based in Rishikesh because our teachers live and practice there not as a marketing backdrop. The yoga teaching tradition in Rishikesh is genuine, serious, and connected to lineages that go back many generations. That environment shapes what we teach and how we teach it.
Online that is genuinely worth attending
Our online classes use the same teachers, curriculum, and small group sizes as our in-person programs. The teacher watches, corrects alignment in real time, and adjusts the class dynamically. For most disciplines we teach, online and in-person produce comparable results when the teaching is truly interactive.
Honest about what yoga is and what it is not
We do not claim yoga cures illness, guarantees transformation, or is right for everyone in every form. We are direct about what our programs involve, what they require, and when something might not be right for a particular student. Trust between teacher and student depends on this honesty and it is not common enough.
How to begin from first contact to first class
We do not use online booking or automated enquiry systems. Every new student starts with a direct conversation.
Reach Out
WhatsApp or call us. Tell us who you are, your experience level, and what you are looking for a class, a retreat, teacher training, or something you are not sure how to name yet.
We Match You
We listen, ask a few questions, and recommend the right program, teacher, and starting point for your specific situation. No upselling. No pressure. A direct and honest recommendation.
Begin Practice
Your first session is scheduled. You begin. We build from there adjusting as your practice develops and your goals become clearer over time.
What students say about practising with us
I came to the 200 hour TTC not knowing whether I wanted to teach. The depth of curriculum anatomy, philosophy, methodology changed how I understand my own practice completely. I now teach three mornings a week. More than that, yoga became a genuinely different thing for me.
The week retreat was one of the best decisions I have made in years. By day four, the morning practice before sunrise felt like the most natural rhythm. The teachers are not performing for you they are doing the work alongside you. That changes the experience entirely.
I was sceptical about online yoga tried other platforms, found them useless. No feedback, just a video to follow. The Seventh Center's live classes are completely different. The teacher notices when your alignment is off and corrects it in real time. That is what I needed and hadn't found elsewhere.
Your practice starts with a single conversation.
Tell us where you are in your practice, what you are looking for, and what your timeline looks like. We will listen, ask a few questions, and recommend the path that makes sense for you whether that is an online class this week or a residential program in Rishikesh.
Questions people ask before reaching out
Start by reaching out on WhatsApp and telling us you are a complete beginner. We will ask a few questions your location, schedule, any physical considerations and recommend the right starting point. Most complete beginners start with a beginner group class (online or in-person) or one or two private sessions to build a foundation before joining groups.
We offer live, interactive online yoga classes not recorded videos. Teachers teach to the group in real time via video, can see every student, and provide verbal corrections throughout. Classes are kept small so the teacher can give genuine attention. We schedule with international students in mind tell us your timezone and we will find a suitable slot.
Not at all. Many students join teacher training with no intention of teaching. The academic and practical depth of a TTC anatomy, philosophy, sequencing methodology permanently changes the quality of personal practice in ways regular classes cannot achieve. Understanding the mechanics and history of yoga transforms what you experience when you practise.
Yes. Solo travel to Rishikesh for yoga study is extremely common students arrive alone from all over the world each year. Rishikesh is a well-established destination with good infrastructure for independent travellers and a strong international yoga community. We assist all visiting students with arrival guidance, accommodation recommendations, and logistics to make the trip straightforward from the moment you book.
Our retreats range from 3 days to 2 weeks. A typical day includes morning yoga (often before sunrise), an afternoon or evening practice session, meditation or sound healing, and unstructured time to rest or explore Rishikesh. What is included in terms of meals and accommodation varies by program we are always specific about this when discussing a retreat. Reach out and we will explain exactly what your options are.
